赢创工业集团自上世纪七十年代末期开始在大中华区（包括中国大陆、香港和台湾）生产特种化工产品，并早在此之前就在这一地区有了广泛的业务活动。目前，赢创在大中华区拥有18 家公司，15 个生产基地。2010年，赢创大中华区约有4,000名员工，总销售额超过12.3亿欧元

该研发中心于2004年建成，并于2007年完成了二次扩建。扩建后，研发中心的总面积近25,000平方米，总投资额超过2000万欧元。研发中心是专门为中国及亚太市场而设立的，集营销、技术服务、研发于一身的服务平台。我们有26个先进的实验室及100多位研发人员，致力于为客户开发与推广具有本地特色的产品。我们因此保证各业务部门能够更好地为中国市场提供令人满意的产品和服务。上海研发中心已经逐渐成为赢创全球研发网络中关键的一环。不仅如此，赢创还将陆续在中国开展基础性研发，真正实现中国"智"造。

Evonik Industries has been producing specialty chemical products in the Greater China region (Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan) since the late 1970's; with wide-ranging trading relations already in place prior to this in the region. The Group now has a total of 18 companies and 15 production sites in the Greater China region with around 4,000 employees. The regional sales reached €1.23 billion in 2010.

As a specialty chemicals leader, we focus on innovation and proximity to customers in the Greater China region as elsewhere. Alongside our applications technology laboratories at several sites，our Research and Development (R&D) center in Shanghai-Xinzhuang plays a key role.

The R&D center was inaugurated in 2004, with further expansion in 2007. The R&D center, with a total investment of more than € 20 million and an area of about 25,000 square meters, is one of the largest R&D center ever established by a multinational company in Shanghai. The R&D center is set up especially for Chinese and Asia Pacific markets and serves as a platform that integrates marketing, technical service, and research and development. Here, we have 26 state-of-the-art laboratories and approximate 100 staffs, which dedicate to develop specific products locally for our customers. This approach enables our business units to cater much more effectively for the Chinese market. The R&D center in Shanghai is now increasingly becoming a hub in our global R&D network. More than that, Evonik will also gradually start the foundational research in China for the best development of local intelligence.
